We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our distribution efforts of recycled soap in Sierra Leone via Retail and NGO Partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building our network of salespeople and fostering relationships with our key distribution partners.
Key Accountabilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning
Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-channel route-to-market strategy aligned with VCISL's mission and objectives.
Analyze market trends and competition to identify opportunities for growth
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand VCISL's presence in the market.
Set sales goals by channel and develop action plans to achieve and exceed them.
Product Proposition
Using market insight, co-create with VCISL HQ the correct product offering by channel
Develop a coherent pricing strategy by channel in line with VCISLβs mission and objectives. Execute the pricing strategy with no exceptions outside guidelines agreed with HQ.
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and manage a network of itinerant/retailer traders
Be the voice of the market within the Sierra Leone leadership team bringing market opportunities and risks to the centre of the organization
Foster a collaborative and positive team culture
Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local NGOs/CBOs, distributors and retailers
Manage the externally-facing operational sales process from order receipt through to payment, ensuring seamless customer service and financial compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales and other departments
Reporting and Analysis
Implement reporting mechanisms to track and analyze sales performance by channel
Build a database of market activity to ensure we remain relevant to end users
Provide regular updates and insights to senior management.
Experience required:
Proven track record of success in sales management, preferably in the consumer goods or hygiene industry.
Understanding of the social impact sector and a passion for sustainable and humanitarian initiatives
Remuneration: Salary will be based on experience at a fair middle market rate
