Job Description

Monitor DCP employees, contracts, and subcontracts to ensure compliance safety rules and regulations.

Ensue all persons including the general public, with proximity of DCP premises sites and operating locations are not exposed to the risks of health and safety.

Ensure that work is carries out in a safe manner and acceptable standards with minimum risk to all persons, property, equipment, and materials.

Report near miss, unsafe act, unsafe conditions of contracts and subcontracts to DCP Management.

Ensure that contracts carry out toolbox on daily basis before starting of any work.

Ensure that all necessary fire apparatus on site are maintained in serviceable condition and regular inspected.

Ensure that necessary contact is made for emergency call out of medical facilities in case of serious accident or illness.

Upon receipt of a report of noncompliance or any condition which poses a serious or imminent danger to health or health, issues a request for immediate corrective action from the contractors.

The elimination of risk of injury of all persons affected by DCP operations and prevention of damage to all property and plant.

Conduct daily environmental field inspection in plants line 3amp;4, and reporting findings on environmental hazards and incidents with a view to implementing corrective action.

Collect discharge water sample for analysis as per approved water quality sampling schedule. Conduct ISO kinetic sampling for emission monitoring of flue stack for plant.

Assist in campaign for good housekeeping in plant and environmental compliance awareness in plant.

Conduct ambient air quality and noise level monitoring in plant and report finding.

Assist in the implementation of Environmental Management System (EMS ISO 14001) program for the plant to meet up with environmental compliance obligations.

  • Carry out solid waste segregation and ensure proper disposal of waste generated in plant.
  • Responsible for fire hazard spotting and reporting.
  • Shall ensure availability and reliability of the fire van, fire tender and all other fire control equipment.
  • Shall sensitize staff on fire risk, prevention, and control.
  • Shall be available for all cases of emergencies.
  • Work with environment section for the realization of goal zero-fire incidents in the factory.
  • Fight fire in case of fire incident in any part of the plant.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head HAM amp; Admin.

Requirements

  • WASCE O’ Level/OND or its equivalent in any discipline.
  • Relevant safety training from recognized safety professional body such as ISPON and BSC
  • Membership of Safety professional body such as IOSH and ISPON.
  • Minimum 3years relevant work experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Adequate knowledge of the cement and manufacturing industries.
  • Adequate knowledge of Safety regulations.
  • Ability to analyze an incidence and proffer valuable solutions.
  • Ability to communicate incidences and emergencies clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High sense of responsibility.
