Master of Science (MSc) in Rural Development, awarded by the University of Sierra Leone Freetown, March 2003. Rigorous coursework and comprehensive research prepared me to excel in my chosen field. The program provided in-depth knowledge and advanced skills in the implementation of community-driven development (CDD) throuh strenhgthening Social Capital, enabling me to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and developments. I successfully completed various projects, actively participating in data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking exercises. My experience in conducting research and applying theoretical concepts to practical scenarios has honed my analytical and decision-making skills. This degree serves as a testament to my dedication, determination, and ability to navigate complex subject matter.
I pursued a year's post graduate studies in Rural Development successfully. From 2019 to fate, I am an Independent Expert, Global Advocates for armed children in conflicts (GACAC) in the Office of the Special Representative Secretary General (OSRSG) in the UN. From April 2023 to date I am also the Country Director, Network Action for Reintegration and Human Development (NetARHD), local NGO in Sierra Leone. From January 1997 to June 2003, I was the Information and Sensitization Unit (ISU) Manager, National Committee for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (NCDDR), Sierra Leone.
This is the story of the GoBifo Project, a World Bank administered Project an integrated rural development project implemented in the Bombali and Bonthe Districts in Sierra Leone. The Project was set up to support the decentralisation process in Sierra Leone; hence its implementation through the Decentralsation Secretariat in Freetown.The GoBifo Project worked by stranegthening social capital to enhance the capacity of local governments and deprived communities to design and implement strategic plans at village and ward levels, and to enhance accountability of deciusion-makers through mechanisms that foster open and transparence governance. To strengthen social capital the Project paid specific attention to the proxies of trust, collective action, gender and social inclusion, local groups, networks and information sharing
